I turn 48 in a month and whilst it’s not a special birthday, I am choosing to do something special. When you read this, Oscar will be preparing for, having or recovering from eye surgery on June 18th. He is having a second implant attached to his eye to try and save what little sight he has left. My birthday wish is for Oscar and others like him to have a future blessed with sight. In lieu of birthday gifts or sharing a bubbles or 10 with me, I am asking you consider making a donation to Queensland Eye Institute Foundation (QEIF) ☺. QEIF works every day to save sight by providing innovation and excellence in research, education and clinical care to reduce eye disease, improve eye health, and ultimately eliminate preventable blindness in the community. With no government funding the Queensland Eye Institute’s survival relies solely on the generosity of donors. Thankfully every dollar donated through mycause goes directly to QEIF. Oscar has been a patient of QEI for 7 years. The Doctors, Researchers and Staff are world class, the service and genuine care for their patients is amazing and many of them we are now blessed to call our friends.
