About
Around Australia, Community Legal Centres (CLCs) provide valuable legal services to those who cannot access or afford private legal services. The Far West Community Legal Centre (FWCLC) is a service in Broken Hill providing this sort of help to regional Western New South Wales. They provide services to the residents and communities of the Far West region including Tibooburra, White Cliffs, Wilcannia, Broken Hill, Menindee and Ivanhoe.
Unfortunately, most CLCs rely on Federal or State Government funding and this is often scarce and subject to cuts (i.e. the Federal Budget cut scare in May 2016). As I will be spending January and February, 2018 volunteering at the FWCLC, I thought it would be great to raise some money and donate it to the FWCLC as a token of appreciation for their work. I have decided to start this campaign with the objective of raising $1000 by January 1, 2018! Any donation, big or small, is appreciated. To my fellow law students, I recommend you engage in some volunteering at some point in your degree as it is a great way to give back to the community and use the valuable skills and knowledge you are toiling to acquire!
