As some of you may know, I am embarking very soon on a three week journey in the Everest Region of Nepal. I am joining an Australian based charity organisation, Eyes4Everest, which aims to provide primary eye care services to remote mountain villages in Nepal.
The spontaneous decision to join this campaign will allow me to make a difference as an early career optometrist. This mission will not only be clinically fulfilling but personally as well. I am excited that this experience will allow me to deepen my love for travelling, hiking and exploring the mountains.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will allow Eyes4Everest to continue their great work. This year 100% of the donations will go into the rebuilding of a medical/optometry clinic in the village of Thame which was recently destroyed by flash flooding.
Thanks so much for supporting this important cause, can’t wait to share this experience with you!
Eyes4Everest was founded by Australian paediatric optometrist Shaun Chang after learning some Sherpa children were having difficulty seeing the board. The Association is dedicated to providing eye care and treating preventable blindness in the mountain communities.
