Being diagnosed with cancer, going through chemo, and being away from home would be hard at any stage of life. Especially at the beginning, as is the case of little Marnee,
Marnee is just 10 years old and has been struggling for the last 18 months with respiratory issues, after being told over and over that its 'just a cold' or a virus that will pass. Finally, enough was enough and they family have pushed for more tests only to discover the worst news. Marnee has been diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma, or 'sarcoma', which is a cancer that develops from connective tissues in the body, such as muscles, fat, bones, the linings of joints, or blood vessels.
Marnee and her mother are in Brisbane, 700km away from their home in Rockhampton, for at least the next 15 weeks. We would like to be able to help out with all expenses involved, from travel and accommodation in Brisbane, to bills and even to help pay for the pets food while they are away from home, as well as home maintenance/repairs after Tropical Cyclone Marcia.
Marnee's older brother Rieck has been looking after their mothers dogs and house, as well as Marnee's older sister Lexie (12). Now that Marnee and her mum are in Brisbane for at least the next 15 weeks. Lexie has made her way to Brisbane and will be looked after by her older sister Jess, 19, Lexie will be attending school at the hospital.
As you can imagine there is costs associated with every aspect of their plight. They are in Brisbane with basic accommodation and no transport. Eating well is an essential part of getting and staying healthy. Anything you are able to donate will be going straight to the family and will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read Marnee's story, please share with your friends so we can all help out.
***UPDATE***
Rieck; Marnee's brother has set up a bank account specifically for the raised funds to be able to keep better track of them, being that it is now significant amount of money.
Please don't let the 'Goal' amount deter you from donating, this is going to be a long journey and the costs will be ongoing. The family assure everyone that any excess funds will be donated back to charity.
Sending love
