Sophia was born with a very rare limb deficiency called Fibula Hemimelia. The only option for treatment in Australia is amputation, however, we have found a doctor in Florida, USA who can save Sophia's leg through limb reconstruction. Unfortunately this is at the cost of $255 000. In addition to this Sophia was also born with a tallipe (club foot) to her other foot and we have been seeking medical care to correct this also.
As a family we have been through quite a few life altering events including the loss of Sophia's twin brothers, Jake and Hayden and more recently a house fire where we lost most of our things.
Sophia is a beautiful girl who deserves a chance to have full use of both her legs, especially when this option is available overseas.
As her parents, we want to provide Sophia with the best option and outcome for life and so find it difficult not to be able to give our special little girl every chance she deserves. We are a proud family who find it difficult to ask for help but would be appreciative of any assistance that is given.
We would also greatly appreciate it if you could pass this on to your friends and family as they say many hands make light work. Regular updates on Sophia's progress will be given if we can raise the money to succeed in Sophia having her operations.
