About

I am starting this campaign to help my dear cousin Julia get her MUST HAVE treatment for an aggressive Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. She is a young mother of a 1-year-old and she’s bravely fighting for her life and her son’s happiness.

She began her fight last year, just few days after her baby boy was born. It was not easy, she has seen and suffered a lot, the separation from her baby just days old and a tough month in a Tuberculosis clinic in Rostov (Russia). After the misdiagnosis and mistreatment for TB she had to endure a 1000klm car trip through snowy mountains 2000m above the sea level due to the build up of fluid around her heart that prevented her from travelling by air. What followed next was months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy in Tbilisi (Georgia), supported by her loving husband and family. Despite all her struggles, Julia is full of positivity and always encourages and helps others to stay strong and hope for the best.

In November Julia was enjoying her son’s (George) first birthday, thinking she had almost won this fight. Unfortunately a PET test later that month showed that although the old tumour had disappeared, a new, aggressive tumour had been detected.

Julia’s Doctors have urgently referred her for stem cell transplantation.

This is her only hope.

However, the good news is, there is a big chance Julia can become a donor for herself. When a patient’s own stem cells are taken, reproduced and transplanted back after extremely strong chemo, it leaves only healthy stem cells. The downside for Julia is that stem cell transplantation is not available in Georgia. Even though Julia has a double citizenship, Georgian and Russian, it doesn’t help. Waiting lists for free transplantation in Russia are long and Doctors have indicated that in Julia’s case there is no time to wait.

We and all our friends around the world are making enquires about treatment and getting quotes for Julia. We’re currently looking at options in Russia (as a private patient), Turkey, Israel, Greece, Cypress, UK, Sweden, France, Hungary. But one thing is common about all these hospitals, treatment costs are high and that’s where we need your help.

With all our family’s savings, credits and assets we are not able to meet the full cost of the treatment that Julia needs so urgently. We’re doing everything possible to help Julia in her recovery and I pray every night that we can make it happen.

Please help us make it happen!

This is a small world. A world full of kind people. Please, let's give this beautiful mother a chance to be with her family and allow her to watch her son grow up.

God bless you and thank you so much for your donation.
