Running for Ruth

I met Ruth when we both trained for a Half Marathon with Can Too in 2012. I knew that her husband had MS but I didn't know then that she was having signs that she had a rare and severe spinal degenerative disease. Now she faces becoming a quadraplegic in 5-8 years who won't even be able to breathe for herself. Kevin and Ruth have 3 children under 18. She is undergoing treatment from the USA that requires her to be in neck braces, casts unable to move. It is her only hope...She is a quiet, humble, unassuming lady who is trying to be positive and thinks always of her children. She writes a blog that is deeply moving, incredibly sad but shows what an amazing and inspiring individual she is. The family are facing around $400,000 worth of costs to make their home and car accessible to parents in electric wheelchairs so they can try and continue living as normally as possible with their family.
