Many of my family and friends will already be aware I set myself a personal goal for 2014 to run 52 half-marathons (21.1km) within the year. I'm pleased to say I'm on track to complete that goal, which got me thinking how I can have a bit of fun with my 52nd run and raise money for charity at the same time.
On Friday 19th December I will run a half-marathon (21.1km) dressed as DJ Lance Rock from Yo Gabba Gabba (pictured) through the busiest peak hour route I can find through the Brisbane CBD and out to where I work at Toowong.
I've chosen to support the Day of Difference charity for the great work they do for kids and their families in really difficult times that follow unfortunate accidents. I've seen Ron Delezio deliver his personal story on a number of occasions and have never squeezed my kids harder after realising how lucky we are. If any of us are ever unfortunate to have something horrible to happen to any of your families I want Ron's legacy there to support us!
Day of Difference Foundation exists to support critically injured children and their families. It was established in 2004 by Sophie Delezio’s parents, Ron and Carolyn, after they experienced first hand what parents go through when their beloved daughter was critically injured.
