About

Please Help me to publish my book about coping with the loss of a child through suicide.

My beautiful boy lost his fight with depression and took his own life. I was totally devastated and struggled to come to terms with this, for a long time.
I lived in a ‘zombie like’ state, unable to think or function properly. Even though I attended grief counseling, searched the internet, talked to friends and family, the need to relate to someone who knew the intense pain I was enduring was all consuming. I couldn’t explain the emotional roller-coaster I was on and felt that others couldn’t relate to it, without having gone through it themselves.
This has prompted me to write a book about coping with the loss of your child, and in particular, when your child’s death was through your child’s own deliberate action.
While all family members are affected by this type of tragedy, my story is specifically from a mothers perspective.
To a mother, who has given birth to, nurtured and loved her child unconditionally, the completion of suicide of her child is beyond belief. And yet, somehow, she has to continue to live through and accept this truth.

I hope that by writing a book about my journey, I will help other mothers who are suffering from the loss of their child through suicide. My intention is to offer comfort to Mothers who are searching for answers to their sometimes erratic and dysfunctional thoughts and behaviors. It is comforting to know that someone does actually know how you feel and that you are not going crazy. I feel that a book like this would have been beneficial to me. I needed a book like this.

Apart from requiring funds to publish my book, I am also in need of money to pay many overdue bills. I wasn’t able to work full time for a long time after my son’s death and fell behind in all of my accounts. I was irrational and had no sense of responsibility. I felt as if nothing was important to me anymore. Since then, I’ve been struggling to make ends meet as best I can. A series of unforeseen circumstances also occurred that added to my financial burden. There is a lot more to this story that I've not mentioned here. I will lose everything I have, if I can’t find a way to pay.
My family have helped me a lot in the past but a friend suggested I now try crowdfunding.
By asking for help from crowdfunding, I have the opportunity to begin a new life. In gratitude, I am donating 10% of all donations, and 10% of proceeds of my book to ‘Beyond Blue”. I want to raise awareness of depression in young people and by donating to ‘Beyond Blue’ I hope to contribute to the help available to other young men and women who are suffering from this misunderstood disease.
Thankyou in advance, for your generosity and for taking the time to read this. I am very grateful for every donation.
