In late October 2012, I lost my 17yo sister to suicide.
After losing my father to suicide as a young teenager in 2002, these experiences have shaped me beyond comprehension.
It has been, and will continue to be, a very hard and extremely rough road for my family.
This last year has been a difficult one as we all grieve at our own paces, in our own way, often clashing with one another.
Every day hurts, every day the memories and pain come flooding back.
But we who are left will carry on, because suicide is not an option.
This year on October 10 I'll be silent for 24 hours "to help raise the volume on mental health".
Your donations will go towards headspace again this year. They are a fantastic organisation who help young adults in giving a listening ear, and helpful advice to show the kids that they are not alone, they are loved.
You know the drill guys - sponsor me and enjoy my silence.

If you want to read any more about my story - here's one I wrote in May 2013.
It's a little outdated now, but it essentially remains the same

Stef, I had to make sure it was a rounded up figure. Congratulations and I'm so proud of you. Aunty Celi
