i'm tired - i want a hug. or at least something i can hold in my hands that feels like one.
so much of what reaches us now has no weight. a flash of a screen, a like, a message seen and forgotten. close friends lists of people we never touch.
i want to do something different. i want to put a little loving attentiveness back into the world, starting with you, if you'll accept it.
in spanish, sobremesa is the part of a meal after the food is gone -everyone still at the table, nobody in a hurry to leave. there's no english word for it. split it in two, sobre mesa, and it means "an envelope on the table."
this project is about containing a little care, slowing down, staying, connecting.
how it works:
tell me a little about yourself, and where i can send it, and i'll send you a handwritten note - sometimes a poem. prefer not to share your address? no problem, email, instagram handle works too.
if you'd like to cover your postage, or someone else's, you can, but please don't send more than $10. anything beyond stamps goes to a good cause; suggestions welcome.
