“No woman should die giving life.” The stark reality is this: around 300,000 women and babies still die each year during childbirth, many from preventable infections. This year, the Zonta Club of Bendigo is aiming to assemble 2000 birthing kits, and we need your help to reach this goal. What began 20 years ago as a simple idea, that something as basic as a clean blade, gloves, gauze, a plastic sheet and cord ties could save a life, has grown into a global movement powered by volunteers who assemble these items into birthing kits. Every $5 donation provides one birthing kit.
