On Saturday, October 31, I’ll begin a 24-hour non-stop movement challenge at Appin Street Athletics Track in Wangaratta, finishing at 10am on Sunday.
For the entire 24 hours, I’ll keep moving — running and walking lap after lap — to raise money and awareness for Project 365 and the work they do supporting mental health in our local community.
Why I’m Doing It
Mental health is something that has become very important to me personally.
In recent times, I’ve had my own challenges, and one of the biggest things that has helped me has been movement — especially running. Getting outside, clearing my head and simply moving has made a huge difference.
But I’ve also learned how important it is to talk.
Starting that first conversation can be incredibly difficult, but the weight that can be lifted by opening up to someone is massive.
That is what this challenge is about.
I want to use 24 hours of movement to encourage people to look after their mental health, check in on the people around them and feel comfortable starting conversations when things aren’t going well.
Move for Mental Health.
The Challenge
24 hours. One track. One purpose.
From 10am Saturday, October 31 to 10am Sunday, November 1, I’ll be continuously moving around Appin Street Athletics Track.
There’s no set distance I have to reach.
The goal is simple: keep moving for the entire 24 hours.
People are encouraged to come down throughout the event, walk or run some laps alongside me, show their support and help create a positive environment around an important cause.
Where Your Donation Goes
All funds raised through Project: 24 for 365 will support Project 365, a local organisation dedicated to creating conversations, raising awareness and supporting mental health within our community.
My fundraising target is $5,000.
Whether you donate $5, $20, $100 or simply share this page with someone else, every bit of support helps.
Get Involved
There are three simple ways you can support the project:
* Donate to help us reach the $5,000 goal
* Share this fundraiser with your friends, family and workplace
* Come down to Appin Street Athletics Track during the 24 hours and walk or run some laps with me
This challenge might be completed by one person, but the purpose behind it is much bigger than that.
24 hours. One purpose. Move for Mental Health.
Thank you for getting behind Project: 24 for 365 and Project 365.
