Big Talk One Fire is more than a festival. It is a lived cultural experience where community gathers in a welcoming, joyful and respectful space.

Audiences can watch dance and music, hear stories, meet artists, take part in workshops, buy First Nations artwork and handmade goods, share food, and see culture being celebrated in ways that are vibrant, contemporary and deeply connected to Country.

Support for the festival helps create a platform where Far North Queensland's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and cultural practitioners are seen, heard, respected and rewarded. It strengthens cultural confidence, creates income opportunities, grows local pride, and gives visitors from Cairns, across Australia and around the world a meaningful way to connect with First Nations art and culture.

Most importantly, the festival supports the transfer of knowledge from Elders and cultural leaders to young people through story, song, dance, art, language, protocol and shared practice.

Flame Builder ($2,500–$7,499): Helps deliver cultural programs and experiences that support knowledge sharing between Elders, community and future generations.
