Flo’s Day was created in memory of our beautiful daughter, Florence, who died from DIPG an aggressive and currently incurable childhood brain cancer in April 2024.
Flo was joyful, funny and exceptionally kind. We created Flo’s Day to carry her kindness forward, bring our community together and help other families facing cancer and serious illness.
This year, we are holding Flo’s Day: Kids’ Market & Family Fun Day at Club Lambton on 24 October. The event will feature market stalls created and run by children, huge inflatables, live music, food, family activities and a major raffle.
The money raised will be divided equally between RUN DIPG and Sleapy’s Foundation.
DIPG receives far too little funding despite being one of the most devastating childhood cancers. RUN DIPG funds urgently needed research into DIPG and other diffuse midline gliomas, working towards better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
We are also proud to support Sleapy’s Foundation, a Newcastle-based charity that provides practical and financial assistance to local individuals and families experiencing cancer, serious illness and adversity. Its support can help relieve some of the financial and emotional pressure families face during the hardest times of their lives.
Our first two Flo’s Day events raised a combined $30,000. This year, we hope to make Flo’s Day bigger than ever, raising vital funds, supporting families in our local community and continuing Flo’s legacy of kindness, joy and generosity.
