My 11 year old son Alistair enjoys running and supporting charity. We are running together in the 5km Run Through festival at Albert Park on Sunday 12 July 2026 to raise funds and awareness for the Isabella and Marcus Foundation (IMF).
Through our 501st Legion and Galactic Academy volunteering on weekends, we were introduced to the IMF and the amazing work that they do to ‘enable scientists to solve the puzzle’ of brain cancer, through research and scientific trials.
Alistair has been particularly touched by the story of Isabella and Marcus, and what their families have been through. Alistair and I decided to run together to raise funds to help make ‘Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG)’ tumours something that is treatable.
25 children, mostly of primary school age, are diagnosed each year in Australia without effective treatment. The median survival for DIPG is 11 months.
