My name is Christine Leahy, I am running as a candidate in the upcoming Mornington Peninsula Shire by-election for the Briars ward.

I love our community and am very grateful to be raising my family here on The Peninsula, in Mount Martha.

If elected I will work hard to get the best outcomes for our community. I will stand up for what matters most.

I offer leadership experience across family businesses, charities, multinationals and health services, combining practical business insight with community‑minded decision making. This is strengthened by a Commerce degree and as a fellow of the Williamson Community Leadership Program.

I will advocate for:

Well maintained and safe roads - the potholes in particular.

Responsible spending of rates - every dollar of rate payers’ money should be spelt wisely, with a strong return on investment for our residents.

Faster repairs so we can all enjoy our local area - such as repairing the Balcombe Estuary boardwalk and the Birdrock Beach stairs.

Supporting local businesses - family businesses are at the heart of the Peninsula. We should help them thrive and cut unnecessary red tape.

Improved sports and recreational facilities - particularly Fererro Reserve which deserves some investment.

Safe intersections - partnering with State government to fix our dangerous intersections such as Uralla Road.
