The Newy Granny Grommets are proud to present the Granny’s Day Classic – Boogie for the Sistas, a fundraising event supporting women escaping domestic violence.
We’re turning our love of the ocean, our boogie boards, and our deep sense of sisterhood into something powerful — women standing beside women.
With the lead-up to Mother’s Day, this event is a reminder of what every woman deserves: care, protection, and support.

The Challenge
Teams of four Granny Grommets will take on a granny-style beach relay:
- Start with your boogie board packed in a bag on your back (Granny’s got your back)
- Sprint… or stroll… to the water, unpack your board, and paddle out around a human buoy in a pink flamingo suit.
- Return to shore and repack your board in your body bag.
- Run with bag on back to tag your next teammate
The six fastest teams will make it through to the finals — competing for 1st, 2nd, 3rd… and ultimate bragging rights (plus the coveted GG Boogie Trophy).
