Kirsti, 32yrs old, has been totally incapacitated and disabled by persistent chronic pain for her 4th year in a row now -mainly caused by severe Endometriosis. She has suffered greatly with minimal help from outside sources, Jesse being her carer this whole time including financial support.
Kirsti’s journey starts Oct 22, where she was admitted for an emergency lap surgery where they discovered a severe ruptured ovarian cyst. The cysts did not stop and she had them monthly until half a year passes and the oral contraceptive pill has taken effect. The pain for her did not end there, she tried to work many jobs and lost them due to being unable to do the work properly, and after the point where she could no longer walk, eventually found a new gynaecologist who did an ablation lap surgery in Aug of 23 (10 days before her 30th birthday). Endometriosis was found everywhere. Within 2 months she had her pain back to where she could no longer work again and after finding an excision surgeon specialist, was denied another surgery due to how recently she had one. They discovered pelvic floor dysfunction attributing to my pain, and physio and mental health support was provided. After a long time of trying and only getting worse as the months went on; she pushed for her surgery and finally had it on July of 25. The surgeon described the endometriosis to be ‘bucket loads’ and was stage 4/severe, everywhere in the pelvic area and on pelvic organs, up to encasing her ureters and up onto her diaphragm near her liver. She has had a fanatic post surgery result however is in severe pain still and has ongoing health issues that are affecting her. She still cannot work and won’t be able to for a very long time.
Jesse has spent many of thousands over the last 4 years on medical appointments, medications, and surgeries (surgeries alone over $13k out of pocket with insurance) and they have both exhausted all means of income. The Disabilty support pension still has not been approved and are still waiting for government help, NDIS was denied. They are severely in debt, have so many bills including rent owing, and the stress of continuing financial issues is severely impacting Kirsti’s overall pain management and mental health to a point of her experience more physical pain than she should. They do not have means to gain more support through family and friends, this is a sincere ask for help so they can get their bills paid off and have a bit of relief from the non-stop ‘where is rent coming from’ let alone money for all her appointments needed per month.
Thank you in advance to all those that help!
