Some of the most breathtaking places are also among the most vulnerable when nature strikes. 💔

Typhoon Tino recently swept through parts of the Philippines, including coastal communities that have always welcomed visitors with open hearts. Now it’s their turn to receive support.

Because this island is remote and logistics are harder, every donation stretches further than you might think. Here’s a breakdown of what roughly AUD $1 could help provide:

✨ Safe drinking water: On the mainland, 1.5 litres of bottled water can cost around ₱40 (~ AUD $1) in some areas. In a remote island setting, the cost might rise due to transport, so your AUD $1 might contribute to ~1.5 litres (or slightly less) of clean water delivered to a community.

✨ Basic food staples: For example, 1 kg of local rice is around ₱55 (~ AUD $1.40) in provincial Philippines. Given remote access, AUD $1 could help supply e.g. ~0.7 kg of rice or a portion of basic staple food for a family, plus some short-haul transport to the island.

✨ Transport / logistic support: Remote islands often incur higher cost for fuel, boat or barge transfers, last-mile delivery. While there isn’t a published exact cost for disaster-relief island-deliveries, we can infer that every AUD $1 helps cover part of that extra “last mile” cost e.g., helping move supplies from mainland to island, or paying for fuel for generators/boats.

✨ Emergency kits & supplies: With food, water, transport factored in, a general rule of thumb is that AUD $10 might cover essentials (clean water for a household, some staple food, transport to get supplies) though in remote areas this might be a bit less. If AUD $1 helps a small part of that total, every dollar counts.

So when you donate, you’re not just giving money, you’re contributing to water, food, transport/logistics, and recovery infrastructure in a place that has fewer services and greater delivery challenges.

💙 Please donate if you can, share the message, and stand with the Philippines.
