On 19th June 2026 I'm making an attempt on the Bob Graham Round. It's a fell (mountain) running challenge covering 106km and taking in 42 peaks around the Lake District in the North West of England. The total elevation is 8200m - just less than the height of Everest! The challenge is to complete it within 24hours.

I'm raising money for premmie babies, vulnerable kids, people with autism, and much needed development at the church I pastor.

Dear friends and supporters, Wow! Thank you all so much for the donations you've made. When I set the target of $30,000 I thought it was ambitious but we're now over 75% of the way there. It would be wonderful to get all the way. If there is anyone you could share the campaign with, that would be a huge help. I've been in the Lake District for the last 6 days, recovering from the journey, checking out sections of the route, and enjoying this beautiful part of God's creation. I'm feeling a whole mix of emotions: excited, scared, grateful... I'm determined to complete it, no matter how painful it is. Whether I make it within the 24hours will be challenging. There have been 114 attempts this year so far and only 32 have been successful. I'll be heading off at 8pm Friday (UK time) / 4.30am Saturday (Adelaide time). The weather forecast is good. A bit of rain at the start but then dry, low winds and a good temperature. I've got an amazing team of support runners, headed up by a lovely fellow Anglican minister called Charlie Day, who I've been staying with here in the Lakes. And my wonderful family will be providing food, drink and kit changes at the checkpoints along the way. I'll send out a final message once it's all over. But just wanted to say how grateful I am to each one of you. I feel passionately about these causes and believe that the money you've helped to raise will make a real difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable people. Ben

This Wednesday, 15th April, I'm doing a big training run. A Double Yurrebilla - Belair to Athelstone and back! 112km and 5000m elevation. This is the big test. If I can get through this then I'll feel a lot more confident for the Bob Graham. Thanks for your ongoing interest and support! If you visit my Facebook page on Wednesday, I'll post some updates and a link so you can track my progress. For this one, I'd particularly love to raise support for the "Running for Premature Babies Foundation" who provide life-saving equipment and fund research into neonatal care. On Wednesday I'll be running for Elsie: our daughter who was born at 32 weeks and survived just 2 days. Wonderfully, her twin sister Moya, will be joining me for a section of the run!! :)

Happy New Year! And thanks for the support you've given me as I prepare for my attempt on the Bob Graham Round in June. 2026 is the year of The Bob! (for me ;-) I've been pretty happy with my preparation so far and am looking forward to stepping up the weekly mileage and elevation over the coming months. I'm also planning at least two more Milestone runs. The next one will be 31st Jan - 1st Feb. It's an organised event in Port Elliot called the Ratalang Endurance Run. It goes overnight from 6pm to 6am so I'll get to experience what it's like to stay awake and keep moving through the night. I guess I'll be relying on my UK friends and family for support during that one! I'd like to use the event to raise money for Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) and specifically for the Aspect School in Adelaide that my son attends. The following Sunday, 8th Feb, is Autism Sunday, when I'm planning to preach a sermon on Disability and Neurodivergence in the Church. If you haven't seen the video I made about the four charities I'm fundraising for, you can find it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NupYLHcf9U Thanks for your interest and for any further support you're able to provide. Ben
