🐾 Meet Oreo & Pow Pow 🐾
Hi, I’m Marianne, and I’m raising funds to help two gentle brothers named Oreo and Pow Pow from Iloilo, Philippines. I want to give them the safe, loving life they’ve always deserved... and would love them to be with me~ because I need them, too.
Oreo and Pow Pow are medium-sized, medium-haired aspins (Philippine native dogs) who have spent years in a small cage with barely enough food, no room to move, and almost no care. Despite everything, they remain soft-hearted and full of love.
✨ Oreo – calm, tender, loves gentle pets
✨ Pow Pow – playful, silly, cuteness makes you laugh
🌿 Why I’m Asking for Help
During my visit to the Philippines, I met Oreo and Pow Pow at a time when life itself was painful. I was struggling with deep depression, PTSD, agoraphobia, and panic attacks, and had lost routine and joy. They gave me a reason to live and made me more brave to undertake exposure therapy. I started feeding them, giving them clean water, and taking them on short walks. I was low in funds (and still am), but with the few money I had, I bought them dog food, new bowls, leashes, & surgery/meds for Oreo's tumor. I didn't have any more funds to pay for their vaccinations, including rabies, but while taking care of them, I got accidentally scratched often (and it seems I didn't become a zombie). I know, to this day, they miss me as much as I miss them.
Their current owner keeps them caged and relies on a relative who continues to neglect them. It breaks my heart to know they still live this way, trapped, hungry, and waiting. The owner has agreed to give them to me if I pay $2,000 USD (around $3,000 AUD).
Once they are with me, they’ll stay temporarily at Paraiso ni Kamay, a trusted shelter where they’ll finally have space to run and play while I prepare everything needed to bring them to Australia. The shelter will keep them safe and cared for until they can travel. Australia has very strict rules for bringing animals into the country, which makes their journey long, complicated, and expensive
