With broken hearts, the family of Leighton James Stevens shares the devastating news of his unexpected passing. Leighton was tragically taken far too soon in a motor vehicle accident on Thursday, 9th October. This heartbreaking loss has left his family, friends, and the entire community in deep mourning.
Leighton was a vibrant and joyful 11-year-old who lived life to the fullest. He had an infectious spirit and a deep love for footy, proudly idolizing his beloved Warialda Wombats. A keen fisherman and a bright light to all who knew him, Leighton was adored by everyone who had the privilege of crossing his path.
At this time, his family — Brendon, Brooke, and his dearly loved sisters — kindly ask for space and privacy as they begin the long and painful journey of grief and healing.
They are deeply moved by the outpouring of love, prayers, and kind words, and extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has reached out with support.
This fundraiser has been created by the Warialda Community Warriors, with Brendon’s blessing, to support the family during this incredibly difficult time. Contributions will help cover funeral expenses, time away from work, and the many unforeseen costs that accompany such a profound loss.
For those who feel called to donate, every gesture of support is deeply appreciated. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this page or simply keeping Leighton and his family in your thoughts means the world.
With love and gratitude, On behalf of Brendon & Brooke
