Our beloved mother, Georgette, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is the heart of our family, the one who has always given her all to care for others, both at home and in her 40-year career as a dedicated nurse.
To honour her strength and show our support, we - her two youngest daughters, Michela and Claudia - are donating 10 inches of our hair to a sustainable salon through the Cancer Council and dyeing it pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This news has deeply affected our family, especially as we’ve come to understand more about the journey ahead. As we find ways to stand beside our parents during this time, we’re sharing our story in the hope that it brings awareness, connection, and support in all its forms - whether through kind words, sharing this message, or simply holding Georgette in your thoughts.
Our hair donation is booked for the first week of July at Rex Hairdressing, a sustainable salon proudly registered with the Cancer Council. We are so grateful for the love, kindness, and encouragement that continues to surround us.
