Running with Purpose: From Port Hedland to Busselton 1st- 31st October, I’ve decided to put my lifelong passion for running towards something bigger than myself. I’ll be running from Supplement Mart's most northern store in WA -Port Hedland to its most southern store in WA- Busselton. A journey that spans the length of Western Australia. But this isn’t just about the distance or the challenge, it’s about raising awareness and funds for a cause that desperately needs our attention. I chose to support RizeUp Australia because last year, one woman in Australia died every four days at the hands of an intimate or ex-partner. That’s a devastating statistic, and it’s not just a number it’s someone's daughter, sister, friend, or mother. We can’t accept this as normal. We need to speak up, stand up, and act and this run is my way of doing just that. Running has always been part of my life. I started competing in athletics when I was 6, and by 16 I was representing overseas, winning gold in Kuala Lumpur. I’ve even taken on the Relay for Life- a 24-hour running event around a 400m track. But this challenge from PH to Busso will be my most meaningful yet. Every step I take is for those who no longer can.
