To raise money to provide disadvantaged children with educational scholarships, I'm attempting to hike the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). The PCT is a 4,250 km continuous footpath that weaves its way across America, from Mexico to Canada. 7 million steps. 250 km of elevation. It's a long way, but step by step I'll do my best to get to the end. I'll carry everything I need on my back, and sleep in a tent along the way. Just like a child needs a school bag full of all the right tools to succeed, so too will I need a backpack with all the correct gear to keep me safe and moving forwards. I grew up in regional Australia and was homeschooled by my hard-working parents. They sacrificed everything for their kids. I had a dream of becoming a doctor, but a standard education was beyond my reach. At the age of 16, a school empathised with my situation and gave me a scholarship. It fundamentally changed the trajectory of my life and allowed me to achieve my dreams. I've always wanted to do the same for other children. Now it's my turn to give back. Every dollar raised goes to scholarships for disadvantaged children - not one cent is consumed by administration costs or expenses. I'm funding the entire hike myself. Donations are tax deductible. Let's help disadvantaged kids, step by step...
