Help Yvonne achieve her dream swim around Manhattan

Yvonne is an extraordinary swimmer who has inspired countless women, including myself, to take on the challenge of swimming the English Channel. Her dedication and strength are unmatched, and at 63, she’s gearing up for what could be her final big swim—around Manhattan Island this August --48.5 km - a huge swim!!. This will be her first big international swim since she swam Cook Strait in 2001 and the English Channel in 2005. These credentials have got her a place to swim the event in August, but with the swim entry, flights, and accommodation, the costs are significant.
As someone who has spent over 20 years giving back to the swimming community—teaching children, adults, and people with disabilities—Yvonne deserves our support. She’s inspired so many to reach their swimming goals, and now it’s our turn to help her achieve hers. Ever since I have known Yvonne she has been working six days a week, supporting herself and her 2 wonderful children but despite this, has had very little left over for anything but the basics (don't get me started on payscales for teachers aides and swimming teachers; roles that often mold a child for life).

We’re asking for donations to help get Yvonne to New York this August and make her dream swim a reality. Just a small contribution will help cover some of her costs, and your support will make all the difference, hoping giving Yvonne a little more time to train as well. Let’s help this incredible woman complete her final swim and continue her legacy of inspiring. Any money that she does not need will go to fund ovarian cancer research- a charity that she and I are very passionate about.
