Emmie is a 14yr old recently diagnosed with Nephroblastoma (Wilms tumour) that has metastasised to her liver and lungs. Making her cancer Stage 4. Emmie is undergoing Chemotherapy, which will be followed by extensive surgery, more chemotherapy and possible radiation. Emmie’s amazing mother Jen is doing everything possible to support her daughter and her two other children (17 & 3) while studying to become a paramedic. The costs associated with time off work and getting to and from the hospital for initial treatments and diagnosis have been piling up. While we know times are tough for everyone at the moment, every little bit can help ease the financial strain on the family and ensure Emmie is fully supported through this battle. Jen is a resilient and strong person, and rarely asks for help. While she waits for assistance programs to become available, we’re fundraising to help to take the pressure off for every day things like groceries, tolls, parking and other household expenses.

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters, My family and I want to express our deepest gratitude for your kindness, generosity, and willingness to stand by us during the most challenging journey of our lives. We are truly humbled that our dear friend took the initiative to organize this fundraiser on our behalf—something we would never have done ourselves, as we never want to burden others. However, the outpouring of love surrounding us has given us the strength to embrace it and invite you to be part of Emmie’s journey. Meet Emmie My daughter, Emmie, is nothing short of magnificent. She is a unique, talented, and intelligent 14-year-old who was living her very best teenage dream when our world was turned upside down. In October 2024, after being misdiagnosed with “inflammation,” she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Nephroblastoma The tumour that began in her kidney has now spread to her liver, lungs, and spine. She immediately began chemotherapy, and in December 2024, she underwent an extensive 15-hour surgery to remove her left kidney, 52 lymph nodes, part of her stomach wall, the tip of her pancreas, and a biopsy of her lungs. Devastatingly, the doctors determined that the tumours in her liver and lungs are inoperable. Now, our best hope is that extensive radiation and chemotherapy will preserve her life. We Refuse to Give Up Hope Emmie has repeatedly proven that she is stronger than any diagnosis. She is a fighter, and we wholeheartedly believe she will continue to defy the odds. Our focus is on supporting her every step of the way, giving her the best possible quality of life, and making precious memories together as a family. How Your Support Can Help We are asking for your help, not because it is easy, but because every bit of support will make a real difference in Emmie’s life.     •    Daily Expenses – The costs of frequent trips to the Royal Children’s Hospital, medical bills, travel, and basic necessities have been overwhelming.     •    Creating Memories – Emmie deserves moments of joy and normalcy in her teenage years. We want to give her experiences that bring happiness, whether through small outings or cherished family adventures.     •    Exploring Allied Treatments – We are continuously researching potential therapies that may assist in her treatment. Your support will help us pursue these options. If you are unable to contribute financially, we completely understand. Your love, prayers, and positive energy mean just as much to us. Sharing Emmie’s story is another way to help. Emmie has taught us that even in the darkest times, love, joy, and hope can shine through. Thank you for standing with us, for believing in her strength, and for helping us give Emmie the life she deserves. With heartfelt gratitude, Jen & Family

Update on Emmie. We’re at week 6/6 in this initial round of Chemo. She has been responding well however we needed to adjust her schedule due to one of the drugs messing with her left ventricle. We’re booked for her first surgery before Christmas. Radical Nephrectomy for Nephroblastoma + Pulmonary Metastectomy + Liver Metastectomy. After surgery, we’re looking at more chemotherapy and beginning radiation on her liver and lungs
