Jeremy's Fight Against Brain Cancer

We have a fight ahead of us and need your help.

If you know me and my family, you would know we have been battling brain cancer for quite a few years now. It was in this month, nine years ago, that I underwent my second round of brain surgery to remove a Grade 2 brain tumour in my left frontal lobe. Three years later in 2018, the cancer returned and once again I underwent surgery, followed by 9 months of chemotherapy and 6 weeks of daily radiation therapy. After which, regular MRI’s became the norm.

At my latest check-up, only just this month, I received the difficult news that the cancer has once again returned. This has been both shocking and crushing for my family and we felt the full weight of all that it might mean for our future. My most recent scan has shown that the cancer has now spread and become more aggressive.

My hope is to see my boys become young men, to be able to one day walk my daughter down the aisle and to spend quality time with my beautiful wife Sarah. To continue to be present and instrumental in my family’s life. Statistics tell me I will likely never be cancer free but there are new treatments that can help me, so I push on towards the hopes and dreams I have. I am resolved to fight this cancer with all that I have and the best medical treatment that’s available.

Will you help me?

Our family have some big decisions to make regarding a treatment path. The most likely path forward is to undergo a 4th round of brain surgery, for doctors to remove what they can of the cancer. Surgery of course means time off work, driving restrictions and a challenging recovery period. Our Christmas will look very different this year as surgery will likely be scheduled as soon as possible.

Following on from that, I hope to use a variety of treatments to aid my recovery and give me the best possible outcome. There is no cure yet for brain cancer but we know there are treatments that have shown great success in limiting the growth and providing a reasonable quality of life. Treatments like this are expensive and that’s where I need help to pay for them. I can’t leave any stone unturned in my fight to beat this insidious disease. I don’t want to die wondering and I am going to fight it with every fibre in my body with your help and God’s grace.

As you can imagine, dealing with all of this is enormously draining emotionally and financially. The previous surgeries and treatment have depleted our finances and because of my diagnosis I have been unable to get insurance in the event my cancer returned.

It's not easy to ask for help, but here we are. I have been blessed with an incredible army of supporters who generously gave to support me and my family during my earlier battles and I will always be extremely grateful for your generosity.

The money we are asking you to help us raise will go towards ongoing adjunctive cancer therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, molecular hydrogen therapy, transcranial photobiomodulation, whole-body hyperthermia and metabolic therapy and supplements. Money donated will also assist us with loss of income as we face the unknown.
