The Blue Tree Project is a West Australian based charity focused on changing the discussion and stigma around mental health, specifically in regional outback WA.
Those living in secluded and isolated areas in rural Australia have higher rates of mental illness but have lower accessibility to resources and services available within a reasonable proximity to them.
With suicide being the leading cause of death in 15 to 44 year olds and is continuing to rise, the importance of mental acknowledgment and discussion is crucial.
The Blue Tree Project provides support for those in these spaces as well as directing the discussion of mental health as one of hope and support.
Blue Tree Project began as a grassroots charity with a mission to help spark difficult conversations & kick the stigma of mental health. We're doing this through a range of community initiatives and events, with a particular focus within regional areas and youth.
