I’m doing 100 burpees per day for 100 consecutive days raising awareness and funds for the fight against Lymphoma Cancers.
This is the 8 consecutive year I’m doing this challenge. So far I’ve completed 70,000 burpees in the last 7 years and with your help raised $12,810 dollars for Lymphoma Australia.
Lymphoma cancers are diseases affecting the lymphatic system. The Lymphatic system has many functions including but not limited to; immune system response and maintaining body fluid levels.
There are approximately 6,900 Australians diagnosed with Lymphoma each year. It is the 3rd most common cancer in children. It is the most common cancer in 15-29 year olds.
Like most cancer Lymphoma can be fatal, early detection and treatment are vital.
Lymphoma symptoms include: night sweats, extreme itching, sudden weight loss, persistent cough, shortness of breath, enlarged lymph nodes that don’t go down.
I had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma when I was 13. I had no symptoms except an enlarged lymph node. I have been in remission since 2001. I had the node removed from my groin and radio therapy treatment. I was very lucky.
Take the time to think about Lymphoma cancers. Keep an eye out for the symptoms and check your lymph nodes.
