In Memory of Alexandros Giameos (+08/09/2024)
Last Sunday at midday, a long-serving and active supporter of the missionary efforts in aid of the Orthodox Mission in the South Pacific passed away after a 10-month battle with illness.
It was Alexandros Giameos' wish that, in lieu of flowers for his funeral, people donate to the Orthodox Mission in in the South Pacific. The mission has its main base in Fiji, where St. Tabitha's Orphanage is located.
We take this opportunity to extend sincere condolences to Alexandros' wife Evi and son Michael. May our Lord grant rest to the soul of His servant Alexandros placing it in the tents of the righteous.
Imagine the impact on a child's life at one of the Orphanages this mission supports, or the solace found in newly built shelters for the homeless in the South Pacific Islands. These are just some of the fruits of the Orthodox Mission in the Pacific, which has grown from a small seed to a vibrant growing community.
The mission faces challenges, but it is undeterred. COVID-19 has had a negative impact, but the mission is working to overcome these challenges by providing education and spiritual guidance to children in the orphanage. The mission is also working to build relationships with the local community.
With your donation, you can be a part of something truly special. You can help to ensure that the Orthodox Mission in the Pacific continues to grow and thrive, bringing hope and spiritual guidance to communities across the Pacific.
Here are some specific ways your donation can make a difference:
Provide food, shelter, and education for children at Orphanages supported Support the construction and maintenance of shelters and other mission buildings Help to train and support local young adults Provide spiritual guidance and support to communities across the South Pacific.
Dear Evi, Michael and family, may Alex's memory be eternal and may it be a blessing to you all, and to this amazing cause. Love, Jim and Irene Sfinas
