Help give the Duggans a sporting chance for freedom.
Sport is helping the family focus while they’re on high alert … and in a state of constant anxiety.
Because they still have no idea when the Federal Court will make a decision about their future. And they may only get 24 hours notice to get down to Canberra.
So, Saffrine is focused on protecting the family's mental health. She’s getting the kids outdoors and exercising. They competed in the Orange Running Festival last weekend.

It’s the matriarch of the Duggan family’s birthday tomorrow. Saffrine is an Aussie battler and our hero. She has held her family together for the past 3 years under extreme circumstances.

Saffrine has campaigned, rallied, fundraised, took trips to Canberra, met with politicians, constantly writing emails and letters, organised lawyers and barristers, and driving every weekend 3hr round trips to the prison to see Dan.
At the same time, she’s been a mum to 6 and worked part time to support the family. She is a true superstar.

Max Goulter, a retired farmer from western NSW wrote ‘The Case of Dan Duggan’ to show his support for the Duggans and in the hopes the poem would shed a renewed spotlight on this bogus case.

Max told Dubbo Photo News, “I feel Dan and his family have been badly let down by Australia, the way the law has been applied, hasn’t been fair.”
Dubbo Photo News said Max also referred to the fact that the “crime” that Duggan has been falsely accused of didn’t exist at the time of his arrest in Australia. Also, reiterating that there have been no Australian charges laid.
The Duggans are so grateful to the Aussie public who have supported them in their bid for justice. Your support helps them to not feel alone or hopeless.
Dan’s case is an important one. It tests our country’s fairness, its sovereignty, and what it actually means to be an Australian citizen.

Dan Duggan is being scapegoated. He is the only person from the flight school in South Africa to face any charges. Not the flight school and not any other trainers. He only worked a very short contract at his time at TFASA and flew in 1960s and 1970s aircrafts.

There were no US warnings or sanctions issued for the flight school until 2024 – 12 years after Dan Duggan had worked there.
Dan has been charged with US specific laws, even though he was an Australian citizen at the time of his work there. He has been charged with money laundering, even though under Australian law all the work was legal and he paid tax on his wages. The statute of limitations was extended, the indictment kept secret for 5 years. To this day, Dan has not be charged in Australia regarding any of these offenses.
The flight school was a reputable training school back in 2012, and many international pilots have worked there. The Australian and UK governments declared that their citizens who worked there during that time had broken no laws.

When the courts resume next week, the Duggans are hoping for some good news soon about Dan’s Federal Court challenge, so he can finally return to his family.
But court appearances are costly, and the Duggans need your help to fund the great legal team that represents him in court. With legal aid refused, the family have had to foot the bill themselves with the help from your generous donations.
It’s time for this cruel farce to end.

Dan Duggan moved to Australia in 2002 and became an Australian citizen in 2012 with an Australia Day citizenship ceremony. With Australia Day coming up, we are thinking of our Aussie citizen sitting in Macquarie prison. Abandoned by his own government, of the country he so proudly committed himself to.

There have been no Australian charges laid against Dan. He’s had no legal aid offered to during this circus over the last 3 years. Why is this innocent Australian father left sitting behind bars?
Australia is the land of opportunity. People come from all corners of the globe to our sunny shores to live out the great Aussie dream. Dan, his Australian wife and 6 Aussie kid’s Australian dream has been shattered.
The last 3 years have been a nightmarish struggle. Two sets of lawyer fees, travel costs for Saff and the kids to and from prison and court, other unseen outside costs, and all the while Saff tries to support the family on a single part time wage.
Dan’s treatment has been nothing short of abhorrent. It’s time for Dan to come home and for the family’s suffering to end.

Happy New Year to all our supporters and friends. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas period. It was not so wonderful for the Duggans, as it was the 4th Christmas and New Years that they had to celebrate without Dan. And it was the 4th Christmas Dan had to spend behind bars.

The Duggans continue to wait to hear about the Federal Court decision, as sitting dates do not begin again until February.
The family still owe for lawyers and legal experts, and never have been offered legal aid. When the judge makes a decision the Duggans will again need to pay lawyers to appear for Dan. They are relying on donations to fund his appeal against unsubstantiated and political motivated allegations by the United States, whilst the Attorney-General is using taxpayer funds.

It’s not the most wonderful time of the year for the Duggans. Dan is still sitting in Macquarie prison. The fourth Christmas without his loving wife and six beautiful kids. Separated, despite having broken no Australian laws. Abandoned and alone on Christmas, by his own government.

For the fourth year in a row, the Duggans are struggling to make ends meet on a single income and all the while maintaining a brave face for the kids to keep their spirits up.
The family would like to thank everyone who have supported them throughout this year. The Duggans are in over $1 million in debt, after fighting for 3 years for justice and Dan’s release.

They need all the help they can get, especially at this-what should be, wonderful time of year. But for the Duggans it’s just a painful reminder that Dan is still not home and facing potentially another Christmas separated from each other.

“I’ve never been challenged as much in my whole life as I have been the last 3 years. I find it hard to think about the emotions that I sit in, because it’s too heartbreaking, it’s too painful. But it’s hard, its hard, and I don’t want to have to drag myself up every morning. So, I really hope this nightmare will end soon.” -Saffrine Duggan.
Saffrine has been incredibly strong throughout this whole ordeal. Raising 6 kids, working part time, keeping the family going, taking the kids to visits with Dan and managing phone calls, looking after her father, all the while trying to keep a brave face for the kids.
Enough is enough, time to let Dan come home. Don’t let these kids have their 4th Christmas without their father.

Last week supporter voices made a big difference - to the lives of the Duggan family and #FreeDanDuggan himself.
Your efforts pushing back and writing to authorities about plans to move Dan to yet another prison paid off.
After hearing your arguments, authorities have told the family the decision has been reversed. The orders came from high up the chain, after so many of you wrote letters of support and demanded action.
Dan is staying at Macquarie and will be working in the kitchen.
