A Mother’s View of Passion Beyond the Field

As a Brisbane mother who has spent years watching my son grow through his love of football, I’ve come to understand that passion isn’t measured by trophies or club names. It’s measured by the dedication that shapes character both on and off the field. This letter is for my 17-year-old son, whose devotion to soccer continues to inspire not just me, but everyone who sees him play.
For years, I have watched you, my son, live and breathe soccer.
Divisions or academy names do not measure passion - it is measured by the fire that keeps you moving every single day. Passion is when you wake up with the ball already at your feet. When you watch games not just for fun, but to study excellence, to learn, to grow.
Passion is training under the rain, the wind, or in thirty-five degrees of heat. It’s taking nutrition seriously, setting up your room like a mini gym, and caring about every small detail that builds greatness.
Passion is in your voice when you talk about soccer, in your eyes when they shine with emotion, respect, and admiration. It’s in how you encourage your teammates, even though life has taught you to be independent, divided between two countries, friends, and families.
Your level, dear son, is not defined by leagues or titles. Your level is passion.
It is an honour to witness your commitment, to see how these lessons are shaping you into a responsible, respectful, disciplined, and extraordinary young man. Every season, with the support of your coaches, you show that passion truly has no boundaries.
Keep believing, keep creating, keep playing - because your passion is your greatness.

In the world of football, there are players who follow the rhythm of the game- and then there are those who create it.
Jorge Starak-Garcia, the Spanish Australian talent making waves in the youth football scene, belongs to the latter category. Every time he steps onto the pitch, spectators know they are about to witness something rare: grace, precision, and intelligence wrapped in pure artistry.
Jorge’s style is unmistakably unique. He combines Spanish flair with Australian determination, managing his speed and energy with remarkable wisdom. He never rushes- he flows.
When he touches the ball, the game slows for a brief, breathtaking moment. His movements are elegant yet purposeful, his awareness of space turning him into both a playmaker and a silent conductor of his team’s rhythm.

After a whole month of October travelling across Brisbane and the suburbs for U18 and U23 Academy trials, Jorge has officially been offered a place in the U18 FQ Academy League at FC THE GAP 2026!
We are incredibly proud of his dedication and effort.
Jorge is full of energy, discipline and heart, and he remains committed to his long-term dream of becoming a professional football player. His goal for 2026 also includes travelling to Madrid to train at the Real Madrid Academy, but he hasn’t yet reached the financial target needed to make this happen.

We couldn’t be prouder of our son.
He possesses determination, discipline, passion, and respect – and he pursues his dream of becoming a professional soccer player every single day.
His boots are the true witnesses of his endless work, training, and games. Just last match (FQ2 Mitchelton assist), we had to fix his boots before stepping on the pitch.
It made us reflect… what would Ronaldo do if this happened to him now? Maybe moments like these, learning resilience through small challenges, are experiences he might be missing after fame.
For us, these moments are part of the journey. That’s why we’ve created this fundraiser to support our son’s dream of training at the Real Madrid Academy in Spain in 2026, before he turns 18. Support Jorge Starak Garcia’s Soccer Dream in Madrid 2026
Jorge Starak Garcia has always carried one motto close to his heart: “YOU NEVER GIVE UP.”
Jorge is a dedicated young footballer (soccer in Europe) who is currently finishing his season with Mitchelton FC Division 1 Brisbane- Australia. His biggest dream is to train at the Real Madrid Academy in Spain in June/July 2026. This opportunity would not only take his football to the next level but also allow him to reconnect with his Spanish family and grandparents, whom he hasn’t seen in four years.
Jorge is in his final year of high school and preparing for university. In the meantime, he is working and saving every dollar he can to make this dream a reality. The remaining amount needed to reach his goal is $13,200.
Your support will go directly towards covering the costs of the training program, travel, and accommodation. Every contribution—big or small—brings Jorge closer to wearing the Real Madrid crest on the training field and experiencing the life-changing opportunity he has been working so hard for.

As I approach the end of this soccer/football season 2024 with The Gap FC in Brisbane, Australia, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to my teammates, coach, and manager.
I am incredibly proud and honoured to be part of this team.
Your trust in me, especially when it comes to taking penalties, has been a source of immense pride. Scoring in almost every match is a testament not just to my effort but to our collective teamwork and dedication to improving both as athletes and as individuals.
Over the course of this season, I have poured my heart into training—more than 145 days, 290 hours, and nearly 50 matches. My worn-out shoes are a symbol of the commitment, effort, and relentless training that have brought me this far. It's time for a new pair, as I continue to pursue my dream.
In the coming weeks, I will begin working to help cover my next season's soccer expenses. I am deeply thankful for the support I have received, and I am confident that, with the continued help of generous people like you, I will achieve my dream of training in Spain next year.
