Earlier this year, I completed the Ice Ultra — a 230 km self-sufficient foot race through the Arctic Circle in Sweden.
Over five days, I faced temperatures plunging to -40°C, traversing endless snowfields, Arctic tundra, and frozen lakes. The challenge pushed my physical endurance, mental toughness, and self-sufficiency to their absolute limits in one of the harshest environments on Earth.
I was proud to become the first Australian to finish the race, placing third among all women.
Through the generosity of my sponsors, we raised $12,785 to help rebuild my childhood school in Thailand. Thanks to these funds, the school now has a new roof and a much-needed shower and toilet block — but the main school building project has come to a halt due to lack of funds.
My dream is simple and close to my heart:
To see children play sport, wash up, and return to their classrooms ready to learn.
Having grown up in poverty in Thailand, I know firsthand that education is the way out. I also know that sport gives children vital life skills — emotional regulation, patience, perseverance, and resilience — that serve them far beyond the playground.
My next challenge:
I will run The Track — a 520 km self-sufficient ultra marathon from Alice Springs to Uluru — to raise the additional funds needed to complete the school’s facilities and provide the children with sports equipment.
The Track takes place only once every two years. With special permission, 30 runners from around the world run across sacred and protected Indigenous land. In the last edition of the race, no woman finished.
This year, I will be running with a bigger purpose — with the hope that my heart will carry me all the way to the finish line.
Join me in giving these children the basics they deserve — functional toilets, showers, and an environment where they can thrive.
