On June 28, five mates and I will depart Perth for the Borneo Jungle on an expedition to conquer the Sandakan Death March.
This Death March has monumental significance to Australia and the diggers of the World War 2. The resilience, strength and mateship of soldiers is beyond anything we can fathom, and we will definitely find out about this in one of the few places in the world that remains untouched.
As part of the expedition, we will engage with under privilege young families that have young children born with cleft lip and cleft palate, which is prevalent throughout the region.
No one chooses to be born with cleft lip and cleft palate. Cleft lip or cleft palate not only affects the appearance, but it also affects their eating, nutrition absorption, speech and so on.
Our group is wishing to make a donation upon the start of the expedition to enable these children to have smile and change their lives forever.
$1500 pays for one childs surgery. Plastic Surgeons and Doctors donate their time, and this cost covers hospital time.
Nice work DA
