The sass queen herself and 2018 Victorian Roller Derby League Dog of the Year, our beautiful Nala, ahwwwoooo'd a little too hard and, unfortunately, tore her ACL. The nine-year-old husky shepherd mix will undergo surgery in late April to receive a ligament implant.
As you can imagine, this is devastating news for parents Sunny and Chantelle (Slam) as this accident means 12 months of intense recovery for Nala (including at least a month in a crate), as well as supporting a very confused Nala through this awful time.
An ACL injury can be excruciating for dogs, just as it is for humans. It has affected Nala's ability to walk, run, and play, robbing her of her favourite activities. Fortunately, there's hope for Nala to regain most of her mobility through this ACL transplant surgery.
This procedure is crucial for her full recovery. However, as you can imagine, the cost of this surgery is substantial. As a beloved member of our community, Nala has touched the hearts of many. Now, facing an ACL injury, this is an opportunity to rally together and show her the same love and gratitude she has shown us over the years. Nala has been there to brighten our days with her presence, and now it's our turn to support her in her time of need.
Your donation will directly fund her ACL transplant surgery and the post-operative care she needs to ensure a smooth recovery.
Every dollar counts and brings us one step closer to our goal. Together, we can help Nala get back on all fours, pain-free and full of life!
On behalf of Chantelle and Sunny, thank you for your kindness and support. Please consider sharing this campaign with your friends and family who know Nala and might be interested in supporting her healing journey.
For the best doggo <3. Hope it goes well.
