Those who know me, know quite well that I love to set crazy challenges for myself to see what my mind and body is capable of.
What you don’t see, are the highs and lows of life. In 2018, I started battling recurrent pericarditis and pleuritis, which left me with fluid around my heart and led me house-bound unable to do any type of physical sport for months. With the support of my wonderful physicians and dedicated family, I have managed to pull through each time. In January of 2023, my grandmother sadly passed away from a heart attack after suffering from heart disease for most of her adult life.
I started running in 2020, during COVID-19, for the sole purpose of keeping my body active and my mind sane. Since then, I have slowly built up my mileage, and in 2023 I did my first half-marathon. As I am turning 17 this year, my goal is to run 17 half-marathons (and hopefully my first marathon) to raise awareness, and money for The Heart Foundation. The Heart Foundation is truly incredible and works to improve heart disease prevention, detection and support for all Australians affected by heart disease. Together, let's raise $ 7,000. Do it for a heart.
