* This is a continuation of our previous campaign that raised AUD2025 last December 2023*
Last July we had to fly urgently to India and faced the painful reality of losing very close family members. We stayed for 2 months in Jaipur and became very close to so many people - our extended family and the neighbours in the colony. So many of them need so much and don't have the bare essentials to make their life easier.
We are their voices because they simply don’t know whom to turn to and what is possible and hopeful to even ask for.
So many lives and stories unravelled on a daily basis… I saw a brother and sister sharing a phone they study from. A young girl training for a race with a tracksuit she borrowed from her older sister, 4 times her size…She rolls the waist to make sure it does not fall. A young boy uses his father's bicycle, too big for him to sit on, and rides it while standing up straight to go to school because they don’t have money for the bus.
I can continue with so many lives and stories we witnessed. Nothing is new you would think. But today it is for me as I can now travel between India and Australia and I feel that love and purpose growing stronger. At the most I can contribute to helping people study, for them to create their own path and make their own choices, out of freedom and not survival. It is a luxury in India to choose for yourself. Many don’t know what this means as so many things around them dictate how their life goes…
We always knew how different it is back in India and today we're split between 2 worlds we love; two worlds that bring us something so different. India's life can be all about hardship and despair and at the same time this is where I experienced the most heartfelt connections and magic in human connections. It is an emotional rollercoaster where things go really high up or down in a split second. The words of surrender, resilience, courage and empathy take a whole new depth here.
Now that I got to spend 2 months there during the most tragic circumstances and witness what very few ever experience, I decided to smile and be courageous as I am the one to reach out on their behalf and ask for your kindness and generosity.
☀️If you have phones or computers you don't use at home and you are in Melbourne; please let us know and I will come pick them up.
☀️If you want to contribute financially, there is no such thing as a small amount.
A heartfelt reminder some people eat with 2 dollars a day or 100 dollars a month. Everything counts…
I am only an email or call away to answer your questions or doubts, and explain further what is really needed, where your donation will go and the difference it will make.
