In memory of Barry Clark

Barry loved to move, and had exercised daily up until surgery to remove melanoma from his lymph nodes in January 2023. Barry had many health challenges, but the lymphoedema in his right leg that resulted from this surgery made every other part of his life harder. Lymphoedema significantly reduced his mobility, exacerbated his Parkinson’s symptoms and impacted his ability to exercise. He never went for another bike ride, or another swim. It reduced the quality of the last year of his life.

Barry had fabulous support from the lymphoedema physiotherapist, Michelle McMahon, at Bass Coast Health. Despite being unwell, Barry once volunteered his time after a physio session with Michelle to help educate other health care professionals about lymphoedema.

We hope that by raising funds, we can contribute in some small way to building awareness within the medical community, and support lymphoedema education.
