Carter + Co Epic Charity Challenge
At Carter + Co, success has never been just about numbers or milestones, it’s about impact. When we launched our business, we knew we wanted to build something bigger than ourselves. That’s why we proudly established our very own Carter + Co Named Fund through Hands Across Canberra, a charity initiative that supports over 350 local non-government and community organisations that change lives across our region every single day.
But we wanted to go even further!!
So in 2024–2025, we set out to take on the Epic Charity Challenge, a test of grit, resilience, and heart, all in the name of giving back. Our ambitious goal?
1. 40 km of open water swimming
2. 1,000 km of race cycling
3. 250 km of running
This isn’t just a physical challenge, this is about proving what’s possible when people come together for a cause greater than themselves.
… Then Life Threw Us a Curveball
On 7 April 2024, James, our founder and fearless leader suffered an unexpected ACL injury. Just like that, his ability to compete was taken off the table.
But our spirit never wavered.
In an incredible show of unity, the Carter + Co Fund team rallied, stepping up to carry the torch. Team members volunteered to compete in the events while James healed, pouring their sweat and spirit into every event, because this cause is close to every one of our hearts.
The Journey So Far
2024 Highlights:
• 14.4 km of 40 km of open water swimming completed
• 250 km of 1,000 km of cycling covered
• 250 km running challenge fully completed with teammates support
2025 Momentum has now seen the Epic Charity Challenge morph through sweat, strength, resilience into something GREATER. Tackling loads of events, supporting other charitable organisations with the buzzing and energetic Carter + Co Fund Crew and Supporters:
We’re off to a blazing start, proving setbacks are setups for comebacks we have;
+ Climbed to the top of Mt Buffalo on our bikes
+ Swam MMAD 5km Challenge, Broulee, Husky, and Aquabike at Batemans Bay
+ 14 km of 25.6 km swimming completed (11.6km to go)
+ 82.11 km of 750 km cycling completed (667.89km to go)
+ 250 km running challenge completed in 2024
+ Sri Chinmoy Trail running series all over Canberra
+ Mothers Day Classic fun run where our charity team raised $800 for research
+ Canberra Runners Half Marathon
+ Sri Chinmoy Trail Series Ainslie
+ The Push Up Challenge

+ Ross Edgley inspired week of EPICness Training includes 80km swim
