Hi! I’m Dobby! I am a one year old Australian Kelpie x Cattle Dog puppy who loves to run and jump and play ALL day long! I love going with my mum and her horse and human friends on long trail rides in the bush, and I REALLY love playing fetch and swimming in the river!
I found my mum, Chelsea (that’s her in the yellow dress!), in a very difficult time in her life and she says I am what kept her getting out of bed each day…. Maybe because I bring her a ball to throw for me each morning at 6am…. Maybe it’s more than that… Either way, I have just been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia and arthritis in my hip joints and my mum is hoping to now return the favour and SAVE ME by providing the best possible solution to give me a long and fulfilling quality of life. The vet said if I don’t do something about this, I won’t be able to run and play for much longer… and that the pain will only get worse each day, reducing my quality of life AND inevitably my life span. My mum burst into tears in the vet office, I tried to comfort her but I don’t think this is fair either, I’m only a pup! I want to run around and play for the rest of my life!
So, the solution? A full hip replacement preformed by a specialist orthopaedic surgeon! The only catch is, it’s going to cost A LOT of money. That’s where you come in… we are hoping to raise $20,000 to fund my surgery (I know! $10,000 per hip!!! ?) and we’re hoping you can help us spread the word and raise some money!
Once we get some followers (we can’t wait to meet you all!!) we will share more details of fundraising opportunities and how to donate… but for now we are looking for fundraising ideas, donations for raffles, and gauging how many people could potentially provide support! So please follow and share our page to your friends, your family and the WORLD!! ? Maybe there’s a surgeon out there who would provide a discounted rate? Maybe there’s someone who can help with my pre and post surgery physio? Maybe there’s just wonderful people out there who want to help? We think it’s worth a shot!
We understand times are tough, so when the time comes if you can donate please do! However if you can’t, would you mind continuing to hit the share button to help spread the word and help us find people who can? ?
I’ve included some info on total hip replacements (THR), my X-rays and a comparison photo of what my hips SHOULD look like, and a bonus photo of me as a baby - swipe to see them!
I’ll continue to share my journey, however in the meantime I’ll be sharing photos my mum has taken of our adventures so far! It’s been so much fun!! I just hope we can keep adventuring for years to come… ? ❤️?
Lastly thank you for your love and support, it’s going to be truly life saving ✨
