About
In the rural town of Laksao in Laos, one incredibly driven man named Peter is working to construct a school to teach local children English.
Since 2018, Peter and his father have been building a new school to provide local children with the opportunity to learn English. However, due to an economic crisis and the decreasing value of the Laos currency, the cost of materials has become too much. Government support is scarce and it is extremely hard to make enough money in Laos to cover the costs.
Like many Southeast Asian countries, Laos heavily relies on tourism for its economy and speaking English creates better work opportunities for Laos people. Also, many students find further study after school can be difficult with no background in English.
Everyday, Peter and his team teach English in two small buildings where there are often over 40 children in one class. As you can imagine, this gets loud and challenging very quickly! The extra space provided by this new building would greatly help Peter and the children who come to learn. Any donations would be appreciated and even the smallest amount can make a difference!
