If you are not aware, my 23-year-old daughter (who just had her birthday on the 13th of September) has recently been diagnosed with brain cancer after months of suffering from intense headaches.
After conducting numerous MRIs, oncology appointments, and an extremely risky brain biopsy operation at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, a cancerous tumor (1) has been discovered in her brain stem. Due to the location of this tumor, an operation to remove it is impossible.
Angelina will now need to begin a 12-month program of chemotherapy. Given the long duration of this treatment plan, Angelina will invariably lose her hair. It is her wish to purchase a wig of real human hair which unfortunately costs thousands of dollars.
She plans to continue to work as a Registered Nurse during her treatment and would ideally love to have a wig to give her the confidence to remain at work as she loves her job and the patients that she interacts with daily.
Many of you have shown words of support and offered ways to help and we thank you for reaching out. Angelina needs your support now more than ever.
We thank you in advance and please keep Angelina in your prayers whilst she undergoes her treatment. It is a long road ahead but if you know Angelina, she is one strong, determined, resilient woman way beyond her years who has nothing but love and nurturing to share.
Sending all of our love and support. We are here for you all any time you need us x
