From 18th November to 12th December, a group of 16 students from Flinders University College of Education, Psychology, and Social Work will embark on a journey to Nepal as part of the Australian Government Department for Foreign Affairs' New Colombo Plan Program.
During their four-week stay in Nepal, the students will have the opportunity to experience the local culture and contribute to the community of Tashiling. Tashiling is a refugee settlement that was established by the Nepalese Government to aid the displaced Nepalese people following the invasion by the Chinese Government. With the assistance of foreign aid and government agencies, the resilient Tashiling community has managed to build a self-sustaining village.
Your generous support will enable us to provide valuable resources to enhance the education in Tashiling's classrooms, making a positive impact on both the students and the wider community. Together, we can help continue the independence of the Tashiling community.
All the best on your journey Cassie and team, it is sure to be an eye opening and once in a lifetime experience xx
