Hi, my name is Mark Oliver, and I am a current Australian Team member selected to represent Australia at the upcoming IPSC World Championships scheduled for December 2022 in Thailand. There are significant costs associated with the lead-up such as training, parts, maintenance of equipment, attendance to lead-up matches, ammunition components, flights and accommodation for such a venture. Any support you can provide to help me on my journey would be truly welcomed and appreciated. IPSC Shooting in Australia receives no Government or significant sponsor support. As such, it is a majority self-funded sport. To date, I have successfully won or placed highly at many National and International events. For example: 2019 Laos National Classic Champion 2018, 2019 & 2021 Victorian Classic Overall Champion 2021 Australian National Senior Champion - Classic Division 2021 Victorian Classic Senior Champion 2021 Thailand Classic Senior Champion 2022 Thailand Classic Senior Champion What is IPSC Shooting? The International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) is the world's largest shooting sport association and the largest and oldest within practical shooting. Founded in 1976, the IPSC currently affiliates over 105 countries from Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania. IPSC recently gained GAISF recognition, which is the beginnings of the journey to IOC recognition. The IPSC Match Calendar Year averages 360+ Level III Matches (large regional matches) in 105 countries, called Regions, all around the world. There are more than 200,000 active members worldwide, with more than 2,500 throughout Australia. Competitions are held with pistol, revolver, rifle, and shotgun, and the competitors are divided into different divisions based on firearm and equipment features. While everyone in a division competes in the Overall category, there are also separate awards for the categories Lady (female competitors), Super Junior (under 16 years), Junior (under 21 years), Senior (over 50 years), and Super Senior (over 60 years). IPSC shooting is dynamic, challenging, and one of the fastest-growing shooting sports in the world today. Courses of fire utilize many aspects not found in the more traditional shooting disciplines, such as movement by the shooter, moving targets, multiple targets, and the freedom for the shooter to solve the shooting challenges presented in the courses of fire. Thanks for taking the time to read about me and my journey. If you have decided to assist, thanks so much for your support. It means the world! Regards Mark.
