Raising funds for: Valentyna Lavlentseva and family
This lovely Ukrainian family has fallen on extremely hard times and can no longer afford food, medicine, or other basic essential supplies. Valentyna and her kids Denis (7), Sasha (5), and Vera (3) could really use your help while she searches for a job. A$ 4000 should be enough for several months of basic shopping. I will match up to A$1000. Every cent counts! Whatever we manage will be extremely welcome. At the end of the fundraiser, I will transfer all the money to Valentyna. Happy Halloween, everyone! This campaign has now come to a close, and to my utter astonishment, we've overshot the goal. I never thought we'd get even a quarter of what we've raised. Thank you so much to all my friends and family that donated and/or spread the word! Thanks also to the NAFO fellas and other strangers, anonymous or not, that helped get this to the goal. Thanks to your collective generosity, Valentyna and her kids will have a protective financial cushion for at least 4-5 months while she finds a job. You have all helped qualitatively improve an entire family's life, likely forever. Thank you all once again!

I genuinely cannot believe how much we have managed to raise, including one whopping anonymous donation of $500! This means we will make and even overshoot the goal. When this began, I didn't even expect to raise half of it by October 31, much less overshoot it with more than 10 days to go. You have all contributed to qualitatively improving a family's life. Thank you so much to everyone who donated and/or shared.

We have already raised far more than I expected to raise in total in under a month. With several weeks to go, I will now be matching A$ 1000, which means we only have ~A$700 (~ US$ 430) to go!
