As you know, I host a community radio show with the aim of supporting independent music in Australia and abroad. One of the indie musicians from Manila has been debilitated with testicular cancer and aggravated by SADS - sudden arrhythmic death syndrome, and has exhausted his earnings. Philhealth, the counterpart of Medicare in the Philippines, is no longer able to provide for his pain-killer medication.
His testicle is the size of a rugby football between his legs, and his heart has to be powered by a special Lithium-ion battery to keep his heart beating.
The stricken artist is Jyel Layug Tagbo, composer and lead artist of indie band Sensitivo. He's in my Facebook friend list. Philippine bands have already held events, and Say More Radio in Sydney did the same back in 2015 and came up with modest $600. I've already personally sent some dollars in separate occasions. That kind of money doesn't go far. He needs to change his gauze pads twice, on a daily basis.
He has been suffering since 2013, and will appreciated any amount, whatever you can send, to help with pain management. Any amount will do.
A nice way for you to also get something about it is to purchase the music that I have written, and have asked Jyel to produce and sing. Please visit mitchellbadelles.hearnow.com
