Trade Training for African Youth is a personal project to assist unemployed and homeless youth in Ghana. We have already set up 2 workshops to train these youth in vehicle servicing and repair (CKL in Tema and MMS in Ashaiman) and have a 3rd workshop in the process of planning for apprentices for the building trades. Our aim is to now provide accommodation for their safe living. The cost will be around AU$40,000 and we have already started the project with the first container in situ on the land we have purchased, situated at PramPram in the outer area of Tema. This container is a 20ft and converted to one bedroom and a full bathroom. Our aim is to supply an additional 6 bedrooms and second bathroom with an additional two 40ft containers constituting a 'U' shape building, with recreational area between all three containers. An additional 20ft container is to be situated on the land purchased, to act as a workshop for our trainee carpenter who should be fully qualified by January 2023 and for further expansion of living areas for future building trade apprentices. This will be funded at a later date once the initial plans are completed.
