Raising funds for: Jimmy Ringrose
Firstly thank you so much for even looking at this page. It was suggested to me that I start this campaign to help cover Jimmys Vet Bills that he has recently and still is accruing. Jimmy is 9 year old Autism Assistance dog that has been working with his boy Phoenix for 6 1/2 years. Phoenix has Severe Autism, Intellectual Disability, Adhd, Sensory Processing Disorder and Severe Anxiety. On Saturday 18th June Jimmy was rushed to the emergency vet in pain, crying/yelping, unsettled, persistent in following his handler Shell (me) around and off his food... totally unheard of for a Labrador and now has lameness in his back legs causing him issues to walk. It's Monday (20th) evening now and he's now 3 vet visits down (2 emergency 1 normal), blood tests, numerous pain relief injections, pain relief tablets and the bill is closing on $1500 even with his BestForPets policy. All money raised goes towards paying the debt that's been accrued.

A huge THANKYOU to everyone that donated towards Jimmys medical bills. As of tonight you helped reach the $3000 mark that was the aim on the mycause page. An update on Jimmy... He is off his pain meds and anti-inflammatories which have helped alot. Hes no loger crying in pain and is walking with only a small amount of lameness in his leg. He still has a little difficulty jumping up on the couch or his boys bed but over all hes doing alot better.

Some great news. Jimmy assists to be on the mend tho we still don't know what's going on. Hes been off pain meds for 3 days now and finished the last of his anti-inflammatories last night. He's no longer crying and while his lameness still isn't great he's doing better than he was. Were still in wait and see mode atm. Phoenix has been doing ok without having Jimmy checking in on him and working with him like usual but seems quite happy that Jimmy is back to sleeping in his room with him.

Hey everyone Jimmy spent the day at the Vets today so he could have Xrays and some neurological tests done. Neurological tests came back clear so that means his spinal cord and nerves are good. While his xrays did show some typical age related things including arthritis in both his knees these aren't the cause of the lameness and pain he is in as they're not severe enough. The next step is a course of anti-inflammatories (as kidney safe as possible) and wait and see. If there is no signs of improvement within 5 days he will be going back to the vet and a ultrasound of his organs will be done to see if there is anything hiding in there, I know I've said this numerous time but i am incredibly grateful for everyones support not just donations. The boys (Phoenix and Jimmy) and I have had a really rough 5 days so far and knowing people care makes a huge difference. Photos of Jimmy taken today at the vet. 21/06/2022 Just got blood results back and they're all great, even his kidney function. While that's awesome that now leads us to believe that there is something going on with his spine due to the lameness in his back legs getting worse. Ontop of everything else he's now needing assistance to get in out of of the car, on and off the couch and to go to the toilet or his legs buckle. He's off for xrays tomorrow and hopefully answers. Thank you so much to those that have donated, I am completely overwhelmed by everyone's generosity

I put my dog down today. Similar symptoms. Look at hemangiosarcoma. Spleen cancer. Labrador among most common breeds affected. Check website avim.us/spleen-cancer-in-dogs. If bloods show low red blood cells, ask for an ultrasound. All the best. Hope I'm wrong.
